The 20th Annual Sports meet of bishop cotton women’s Christian law college was celebrated with great
enthusiasm and energy on 03 rd April 2025 at college campus.
The day began with the grand opening ceremony, where Presiding Dignitary Mr. Devadas Sadu, Associate
Treasurer KCD, Vice Chairman, Board of Management, the Chief Guest, Rev. Ruth Rekha Michael, Presbyter
in- Charge, CSI Wesleyan Centenary, Kannada Devealya, Hlasuru, Assistant Presbyter, St. Mark’s Cathedral.
Delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and fitness. This was followed by
the ceremonial torch relay and an energetic march-past by various houses.
A series of exciting track and field events, including sprints, relay races, shot put, kept the audience on their feet.
Special events such as tug-of-war, fun races for the staff, and team sports like throwball basketball, and
volleyball added to the thrill of the day.
After a day filled with thrilling performances, the much-awaited prize distribution ceremony took place. The
Chief Guest awarded medals and trophies to the winners, while the Best Athlete and Best House trophies were
also presented. The Principal, prof.Dr.Indirani K.S, congratulated all participants and encouraged them to
continue striving for excellence in both sports and academics.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Sports captain, followed by the national anthem. The 20th
Annual Sports Meet was a grand success, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a renewed spirit for
sports and fitness.
HOUSES:
1. Blue Bells :
Bell- shaped blooms with a vivid blue hue characterize the charming and delicate blue bells. They are
perfect for the Humming Bird to take nector from. In Mythology they are used by Fairies.
They symbolize constancy, gratitude, modesty and ever-lasting love. The house is led by – the captain –
Ms. Smriti Pradhan and Vice-Captain- Amulya
2. Calendula :
An Orange flower. The name Calendula is derived from the Latin term ‘Calendae’ – which means little
clock or calendar, meaning it is an annual flower. It also refers to the Virgin Mary and a symbol of
sympathy.
Its characteristics are charming, perceptive, diplomatic, pleasant and refined. The house is led by – The
Captain- Ms. Jeyaprabha and Vice-Captain – Ms R Shalini
3. Daffodils:
Shaped like a trumpet sunny yellow daffodils are cheerful spring flowers. They are prized for their
beauty. They have one of the sweetest fragrances of any flower.
They specify rebirth, new beginnings, wealth and good fortune. The house is led by- the Captain – Ms.
Surbhi and Vice-Captain Ms. Agnola
4. Gladiola:
These flowers look like a sword with their tall stalks, hence are named as Gladiators. They are the most
attractive of the garden flowers blooming in the summer. The six petal-like tepals on each flower add to
their visual attractiveness.
They symbolizes strength of a character, faithfulness and moral integrity. The house is led by the
Captain- Ms.Meghamala and the Vice-Captain- Ms. Rashmi
5. Magnolia:
Often considered as the epitome of elegance and grace, they are one of the love list and most impressive
spring flowers. They are the most primitive among flowers and has lemon fragrance. They are traditional
Oriental flowers.
They symbolize purity and nobility, perseverance and the love of nature. The house is led by The Captan-
Ms. Akanksha and the Vice-Captain - Ms. Kushala.
