Bishop Cotton Women's Christian Law College offers Undergraduate law courses. The laudable aim of this institution is to provide qualitative and fruitful education to the students by offering modernised teaching and training, by undertaking valuable research programmes .

Title of Regulation
These Regulations may be called as “The Karnataka State Law University’s Regulations”, governing 5 years B.B.A., LL.B Integrated Degree Course and 3 years LL.B Degree Course.

DURATION OF THE COURSE
1. The duration of the B.B.A., LL.B course shall be five academic years consisting of TEN Semesters.
2. The duration of the LL.B Course shall be three academic years consisting of SIX Semesters.
3. Each Academic year shall be divided into two semesters.

Significant Features Of The 5 Year Law Course / 3 Year Law Course
• After Pre–University/Twelfth standard education, one can opt for a 5 year Law Course single mindedly like any other professional courses namely Medicine, Architectureand Engineering.
• After completing Degree course of any discipline one can join 3 years Law course. It fosters to the needs of the ambitious students to bag covetable positions in society.
• This is a full time course taught only by day colleges or University Department recognized by the Bar Council of India. It provides for compulsory practical training for students and for compulsory participation in Moot Courts.
• As per Rule 6 Part – IV of Bar Council of India “No student shall be allowed to simultaneously register for a Law degree program with any other graduate or postgraduate or certificate course run by the same or any other University or an Institute for academic or professional learning excepting in the integrated degree program of the same institution”.

Syllabus & Scheme of Examination

Syllabus
The syllabus shall be prescribed by the University from time to time. The University shall periodically review the syllabus and recommend such changes as it is considers necessary.

Scheme of Examination
There shall be an examination at the end of each semester. The examination in each paper shall be for a maximum of one hundred marks and three hours duration. Rules and Regulations of the college are available in the student’s hand Book.
The college will hold one Mid Semester Examination, One or Two Revision Tests and One Model Examination per semester for all students before the University examination.
