The Legal Services Clinic Cell of Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College, Bengaluru, celebrated National Legal Services Day on 14th November 2022from 9:30am to 12:30 pm. This session was addressed by Hon’ble Sri. Aravind N.V, Registrar, Karnataka Real Estate Appellate Tribunal and Mohammed Tabrez Alam Shariff, designated Para-legal and coordinator, District Legal Services Authority, Bangalore.
Prof. Dr. Indirani K.S, Principal In-Charge, addressed the students about the purpose of celebrating National Legal Services Day ang gave an input about the functioning of Legal Services Clinic set up in the college, where the college provide free Legal Aid to the needy people.
The 1st president was presided by Hon’ble Sri. Aravind N.V Registrar, Karnataka Real Estate Appellate Tribunal. Sir briefed on the topic “Ethics and Etiquette of an Advocate.” Sir gave the insight about the rules, discipline, and duties to be followed towards the court, society, client, and colleague as an advocate. Sir also shared his personal experiences and motivatedstudents to participate in various competitions.
The 2nd session was presided by Mohammed Tabrez Alam Shariff, designated Para-legal and coordinator, District Legal Services Authority, Bangalore. Sir briefed on the topic “Medical Negligence and Compensation.” Sir pointed out how Doctors are protected and punished under the law, he also spoke about the advantages of being a Para-Legal volunteer and what changes this volunteer can make in legal field.
